ARABTERM is an online technical dictionary offering a unique and rich terminology database in Arabic, covering various technical domains.
Glossaries in German, English and French are complemented with Arabic equivalents along with illustrated definitions, freely available for teachers, students, translators, technicians and engineers via www.arabterm.org.
The dictionary has uploaded up till now eight (8) volumes in the fields of Automotive Engineering, Water Technology, Renewable Energies, Electrical Engineering, Transport and Infrastructure, Climate, Environment and Solid Waste Management, Civil Engineering, and Information Technologies. The total number of entries amounts to 32,000 entries (equivalent to 128,000 quadrilingual terms). A new volume will be published on September, dealing with the field of Textile Industries.
Every entry is revised and validated in its due course by commissions composed of technical and linguistic experts. According to a study conducted by the project team, this interactive dictionary facilitates work on technical documents for 95% of its users.
