Abdulmonem AL Kharusi

Dr. Abdulmonem has over 22 years of experience in higher educational institutions, ICT business projects, consultancy and support. He led the deanship of Registration & Records and served as a Chief Information Officer for over ten years at the University of Nizwa. He represented the ICT sector in a wide range of executive boards to support services and strategies. He contributed in building the national research framework and strategy and currently contributes as an active member since establishment of the committee for approving ICT research proposals submitted to the National Research Council – Oman (TRC). He worked in IBM Oman with technical roles including SAP migration project to Shell standards at Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) and managing production large databases. Later moved to a managerial role as government  client manager where advised on crucial planning applications including those for Disaster Recovery and High Availability as part of the Business Continuity project carried out for the Royal Police of Oman and the Ministry of Finance. He also advised the government in the “Private Sector Omanization Project” as a Deputy Chair for the ICT Omanization committee in the Sultanate of Oman. Abdulmonem supervised the deployment process of the Human Recourse and Financial Management System at Sultan Qaboos University where he led the application development section and started his journey in the ERP solutions, Student Management Systems, Learning Management Systems, University Portals, Business Process Automation, Business Intelligence, and Enterprise Content Management in the Higher Education sector. Recently, Abdulmonem joined the Research Council Oman to lead the Oman Research & Education Network (OMREN) project.
