Within the framework of the government’s policy, the CNRST’s assignment is to promote, develop, and value scientific research, according to the country’s cultural and socioeconomic needs.   • MOROCCAN INSTITUTE FOR SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL INFORMATION (IMIST)

The mission of the Moroccan Institute of Scientific and Technical Information (IMIST) is to provide scientific and technical information to the scientific community, industry and decision-makers.

  • MARWAN- MOROCCAN UNIVERSITY COMPUTER NETWORK

MARWAN develops, provides and manages ICT services. Its services are available to Moroccan universities and research institutions.

  • TECHNICAL SUPPORT LABORATORIES

UATRS was created with the aim to share heavy equipment which is costly both to purchase and operate It performs elementary, molecular and structural analyses in a wide array of fields including physics, metallurgy, ceramics, microelectronics, geology, biochemistry, biology, medicine, dental, chemistry, pharmacy

MICROBIOLOGY AND MOLECULAR BIOLOGY LABORATORY (LMBM): Goals of the Laboratory of Microbiology and Molecular Biology – LMBM are to conduct research in applied microbiology and its biotechnological applications and Coordinate the network for Coordinated Collections of Moroccan Microorganisms (CCMM).

LABORATORY OF INSTRUMENTATION (LIS): LIS offers maintenance services for an optimal utilization of the national scientific equipment and assets.

CNRST’s research programs aim to promote and support scientific excellence though:

Support for research: the projects are selected through calls to national projects. In 2014, 100 projects are selected by an international commission.

Supporting research structures (Associated Research Units Center-URAC).These research structures are selected on the basis of their scientific performance.

  • INTERNATIONAL COOPERATIVE PROJECTS

3 types of funding available within the framework of bilateral and multilateral agreements

-Travel grants awarded to split site projects- for both researchers and Phd students (airfare and per diems)

-Research grants awarded to split site projects

  • POST-GRADUATE FELLOWSHIPS

CNRST manages the Research Excellence Awards program. Scholarships awarded annually to the 300 most deserving students for a period of three years.

  • RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT AND CORPORATE RELATIONS

The Office for Industry Liaison coordinates the Moroccan Incubation and Spin-off Network (RMIE). This network unites public and private players in the field of research commercialization, technology transfer and innovation.

  • RELATIONS WITH OVEREAS RESEARCH COMMUNITY

FINCOME Program targets highly skilled Moroccan diaspora competencies with the aim of engaging them in the country’s development. Most FINCOME initiatives cover the travel and living expenses of Moroccan competencies abroad for short or long term visits (6 months to 1 year) aimed at transferring know how, skills and expertise.
