AMMAN- The Arab States Research and Education Network (ASREN), headed by its Chairman HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, held a specialized eduroam Training Workshop at Amman, Jordan, during 7-8 November 2018.
With the attendance of 15 representatives of scientific research networks and universities in Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Tunisia and United Arab Emirates.
One of the objectives for holding the workshop is to spur further eduroam development in the National Research and Education Networks in the region.
Having started in Europe, eduroam has rapidly expanded throughout the research and education community and is now available in 101 territories worldwide and emerging pilot locations. eduroam has been an amazing example of NRENs working together around the world to support millions of users.
The workshop was held in cooperation with EUMEDCONENCT3 and AfricaConnect2 Projects, both funded by the European Commission.
