Abstract: “ORCID: A Reliable Open Research e-Infrastructure Enabler”
ORCID is part of the wider open research infrastructure needed and aimed by researchers to lift ambiguity on names and make their research “more” discoverable . We enable transparent and trustworthy connections between researchers, their contributions, and affiliations by providing a 16 digits identifier to use with their name as they engage in research, scholarship, and innovation activities. ORCID iDs have been adopted everywhere in the world, and used as a solution to value and link research activities with systems and institutional repositories. The APIs ORCID accessibility made this connection between researchers and their contributions trustworthy and reliable across time, disciplines and borders. With functionalities like Search & Link, Peer Review and works assertion, researchers are now connected with their previous and present institution, with funders, with publishers and with all actors linked to their career.
