Tiwonge Msulira Banda is the team leader of MAGIC project Work Package 5, which is responsible for Global Science Communities. He is the Head of Administration and Finance at UbuntuNet Alliance for Research and Education Networking, the regional research and education networking organisation for Eastern and Southern Africa. He has spent the last 10 years working with emerging and established NRENs in Eastern and Southern Africa and following up on issues of advanced ICT infrastructures (including connectivity and applications) for research and education. Over the years he has been involved in a number of EU FP7 projects such as GLOBAL, ERINA4Africa and CHAIN; eI4Africa and CHAIN-REDS; and currently three Horizon 2020 projects MAGIC, TANDEM and Sci-GaIA. He has a credit BSc in Environmental Science from the University of Malawi and an MBA jointly offered by the Eastern and Southern Africa Management Institute (ESAMI) and Maastricht School of Management (MsM).
