Abstract: "Arabic Natural Language Understanding"

Datasets and tools for understanding the semantics of Arabic text will be presented. A particular focus will be given to word-sense disambiguation, including sense datasets and the deep learning methods needed to understand the text. Another focus will be given to how named entities (names of people, companies, locations, etc.) can be recognized from the text. The talk will also cover different datasets and tools to understand other aspects of Arabic semantics.
