Abstract: A success story (case study) of REN role to Provide High Performance Computing to Scientific Researchers

Solving machine vision problems is very important in medical diagnostic applications and security applications including radar. However, they are usually very complex to be solved with high accuracy in a reasonable time. Current approaches are using either machine learning utilizing deep neural network or deterministic approaches. Although deterministic solutions offer closed-form solution which avoids iterations, these solutions are very far from real time because it is computationally expensive. In this presentation, research and education networks are utilized to implement the closed-form solution using eight different GPU techniques. The experimental results demonstrate speedups of more than 150× compared to the original CPU implementation.
