On 1 March GÉANT kicked of its #WomenInStem campaign to celebrate the contributions of women in STEM and to empower future generations to increase female representation!
With a series of five videos, the campaign included contributions from female leaders in STEM and male advocates.
Director of the Moroccan research and education network, Redouane Merrouch was featured at Episode 5 – “Words for future generations”, sharing encouraging words to aspiring girls and women interested in starting a career in STEM.
“During my time as the director of the Moroccan research and education network - MARWAN, I have seen first-hand the success of women in STEM fields in general, and more specifically in IT, both within Morocco and the MENA region. At MARWAN, most team members managing and monitoring our daily activities are indeed women! And they are paving the way for future generations of Arab women to break barriers and build careers in science and technology. I encourage all young women to keep pursuing STEM. Do not lose hope in front of the obstacles but keep challenging stereotypes with determination and perseverance.” said Mr. Merrouch.
